This Training Partner procedure helps to resolve certification search bulk download errors, when the name of a contact has changed after the contact’s certification has been issued. The error may occur when names contain extra characters.
Requirements
• You have an existing (MyRC) account with TP Administrator or TP Course Administrator permission level, and have signed in.
• You know the course number of the contact(s) that produces a certification search bulk download error.
• You have configured your browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Edge) to allow pop ups for https://myrc.redcross.ca/
Procedure
1. From the main menu, select MY ACCOUNT, then Certification Search.
2. The Certification Search page appears. In the Search By field, select Course Number from the drop-down menu. Enter the course number, then click the red SEARCH button on the bottom right.
3. The search results appear. Click in the empty box at the top left of the Select column to select all results on the page. Click only in select empty boxes in the Select column to select specific contacts. Continue to the next page(s) and repeat the selection process if there is more than one page of search results. Then select the DOWNLOAD CERTIFICATES button at the bottom of the page.
4. If your browser is set to open a new tab and then close it to download files, any remining open tab may have produced an error. Below is an example of remaining open tabs. Note: your browser must be set to allow pop ups from myrc.redcross.ca.
These tabs display the following error message. There are two tabs because the browser is trying to download both the "Wall" and "Wallet" file, and both are failing due to the SharePoint URL not matching a file that exists.
Look closely at the URL address of an error message tab. Within the line of text is a ‘file= <contact name>~.pdf’. This is the Contact’s name for which the certificate download failed. See the example below for a highlighted contact name in the URL address:
Now revisit the Certification Search results as produced in Step 3. The Certification Number associated to the Contact for which the certificate download failed, is highlighted in the following example:
Click the number to open that Participant Certificate record. It is now possible to download that individual certificate, by clicking on the name, as highlighted below:
