Online
The Canadian Red Cross online courses are modular. Each module or section has activities that allow you to check your understanding of the concepts you’re learning. When you complete these activities, you can progress to the next module. If you are not able to complete a module on the first try, you can revisit that section of learning and try again to successfully complete it.
In Class
To complete a Canadian Red Cross in-class course (or the in-class portion of a blended course), you must successfully demonstrate the skills and critical steps which have been instructed. For example, how to administer CPR.
1. At the end of the class, there is a written knowledge evaluation test consisting of multiple-choice questions. The passing mark is 75%.
If you are not successful, your Instructor will review the incorrect answers and provide you the opportunity to re-test in class and to demonstrate your knowledge to achieve a passing mark.
2. To complete the course, you must attend and participate in 100% of the curriculum.
